Lunch & Learn Testimonials: Lunch & Learn @ Meritain Health: May 19th, 2010 "I found it very good, informative and more a talk on general health. I was expecting more about manipulations and was pleasantly surprised when that was not mentioned. They gave us some easy exercises that you can do at your desk for 30 seconds and they can help by stretching and taking pressure off your back by just getting up for 30 seconds and walking just a few steps." "I thought the "on site" massages were a great idea and found the demonstration of stretches we can do at our desks to be helpful. I plan to incorporate them into my day." "It was good (okay great). What a nice group. They were very helpful about health, nutrition, exercises to do. If ever I need a chiropractor that is the group I would go to." "I thought it was good information about our health and simple things we can all do to stay healthy. They gave examples of what type of vitamins and supplements every body needs. They also gave ideas of stretching, which we all know, but is nice to be reminded... The massage was great. Now all my kinks are gone." "This is not what I was expecting, it was better and informative. I think it should have been mandatory, those that didn't stay missed out... Their loss!" Lunch & Learn @ JFCS: May 24th, 2010 "I thought the presentation was wonderful. What a team effort. I enjoyed the massage, the power point and the nutritional information. I liked the Q & A time and could've listened for another hour." "...brief and succinct and brought [the] chiropractic presentation to our level. ...[the] talk about supplements-pharmaceutical vs. food grade was very intriguing. [I] could have listened all afternoon." May/June 2010 Patient of the Month: Deanna Hayden
I was having almost daily headaches after having been in a car accident in the fall. With that I was feeling constantly exhausted and taking way too much medication to manage the headaches. My sleep was interrupted; frequently I would be up much of the night then exhausted all day. Because of my lack of energy and ability to do many of the things I had in the past I was very down on myself, feeling that I was lazy and incompetent, not keeping up with household chores or other commitments. Until I started feeling better, I did not realize how compromised my day to day to life had become. Initially I was very injured in my accident, but then recovered some. It was not until a few months after the accident that I realized how much my life had changed. Having dealt with the inconveniences of being without a vehicle, out of work, and needing to purchase a new car; I expected life would go back to normal, but it did not. I was encouraged to talk to Tammy (Massage Therapist at Four Seasons) by a mutual friend who had observed the changes in my health and she referred me to Four Seasons. It still took me a few months to make my way there. I feel so much better daily. I have the energy that I remember and do not suffer with the debilitating headaches. Being able to rest well, I am up and functioning every day, rather than dragging myself through each day. I feel more competent and better able to meet the demands of my life. In addition to feeling so much better physically, my mental health has also improved. I understand now there was a reason I felt so badly, and it wasn’t about my being lazy. I think I am especially a success story because I was so skeptical. I had never been to a chiropractor in the past, despite being knowledgeable and involved in alternative health. Throughout my first visit with Dr. Jesse, I kept asking if she really thought this could work for me and make a difference. She was so very optimistic, but I had no idea how much of a difference it would make. I could not have hoped for the results that I have gotten. I think that I had been feeling poorly for so long that I did not remember how well I could be. I am excited to continue to grow stronger and feel better. ~Deanna Hayden February 2010 Patient of the Month: Neil Belkin
From the words of Neil Belkin: “My low back pain started to really aggravate me about ten years ago, along with my age. I was limited with exercise and walking. A friend of mine, who had met Dr. Mike at a golf clinic at the Metrodome, recommended that I stop into this clinic for care. Before I saw Dr. Mike, I was taking Neurontin, a pain killer, which I have stopped using since I started my care here. What Dr. Mike has done has helped me quite a bit. I’m a sound believer in chiropractic. The feel of chiropractic is more widely accepted now than it was 20 years ago. In fact, Dr. Hong at the Pain clinic in Hennepin County likes chiropractic, and told me to continue my care here. When I first came in, Dr. Mike took x-rays. I had scoliosis, which you know is a crooked spine. I also had a degenerated disc, which comes along with old age. Dr. Mike applied massage and adjustments to help in straightening my spine. In addition to that I had muscle stimulation therapy. I’ve been a patient a little over 2 years. During my care here, we came to a decision that there was only so much we could do here in the office. I went to the pain clinic in Hennepin County where they burned my nerve endings (radio frequency denervation). I had about four treatments at the pain clinic. The pain went away for 6 months, but then the pain came back. That’s when I came back here and told Dr. Mike, what they do there you can do for me here! Part of my problem is my weight factor. The excess weight, about 40 lbs, puts a lot of pressure on my back. When I’m on my feet for a long time my low back starts to hurt, as well as my upper back. So I’m taking steps to move my body more and lose some weight. I don’t want surgery if I can help it! I think Mike has done an outstanding job continuing with support and education. The staff has been great as well. I’m on a diet now and taking care of my body. I think that Dr. Mike and his staff are motivated to really help people. His greatest asset is his sensitivity for patients; that goes for Dr. Valentini as well. And they always seem to get back to me in a reasonable amount of time. They take the time to explain how to fix the problem. It’s important to spend the time with patients like me because I’m taking the time to come here. His staff is excellent, including his interns. His office leaves a lasting impression. They give a sense of wanting to come back here again. We kid each other a lot, but that’s how I am. How you’re greeted is very important. The follow-through is excellent as well. Overall I would say Dr. Mike has an excellent operation, outside marketing, staff, even adding a new doc pushes the business to new heights.”
